- Nose
- Melon, cucumber. Fresh almond. Develops smokiness and tarred wood.
- Palate
- Thirst-quenching. Cucumber juice. Smoky aftertaste.
- Finish
- Harmonious and gentle.
- Comment
- More Islay character on the nose than on the palate. A good appetite-teaser.

- Nose
- On the more perfumed/aromatic side of smokiness: herring, heather blossom, baked apple, orange. Quite delicate. With a drop of water there's biscuits, lemon and some maritime notes.
- Palate
- Soft with a rounded mid-palate. Good balance: the gingery/heather tingle rounded out by soft fruit.
- Finish
- Dry, soft.
- Comment
- A great, light introduction for Islay virgins but best sipped neat.
