Nose
Melon, cucumber. Fresh almond. Develops smokiness and tarred wood. Palate
Thirst-quenching. Cucumber juice. Smoky after-taste. Finish
Harmonious and gentle. Comment
More Islay character on the nose than on the palate. A good appetite-teaser.
Dave Broom
Nose
On the more perfumed/aromatic side of smokiness: herring, heather blossom, baked apple, orange. Quite delicate. With a drop of water there’s biscuits, lemon and some maritime notes. Palate
Soft with a rounded mid-palate. Good balance: the gingery/heather tingle rounded out by soft fruit. Finish
Dry, soft. Comment
A great, light introduction for Islay virgins but best sipped neat.
