- Nose
- Sylvestry. Pine needles. Wet cider cellar walls. Cooked apples in oven with cinnamon and honey. A touch of beeswax.
- Palate
- Very smooth if not too soft. Sweet oakiness giving way to a drier edge with some astringency at mid-palate. Ripe hazelnuts.
- Finish
- A bit grippy. Oak never gives up.
- Comment
- That malt could easily be thrown in a calvados blind tasting, with aged oaky individuals.

- Nose
- Soreen malt loaf, candlewax light sultana. Hint of varnish shows some maturity plum. Ripe and broad with raisin and light sweet spices. Balanced.
- Palate
- Light start then grips well in the centre. Cedar. Fairly tannic in time.
- Finish
- Orange peel nut and light smoke.
- Comment
- Decent balance. Worth a look.
