Nose
Polished mahogany, bees wax, fresh tangerine pieces, black banana, sour cherries and the merest puff of peat smoke.
Palate
The peat is prominent, a mélange of stewed fruits: more sour cherries, rum soaked raisins, overripe plums, clove and cinnamon, marmalade and rich caramel sauce.
Finish
Luxurious, with cherries and woody spice leaving traces.
Comment
Magnificent in every way, especially the finish.

Nose
Brown melted sugar, figs, brown parcel paper, parkin cake, fir trees, seasoned logs, almost a mothball note, antique boxes.
Palate
Toast and Oxford marmalade, blood oranges, the spices (cinnamon and cumin) start to build gently.
Finish
Long and sweet.
Comment
Shows its age well and with balance.
