Nose
Orange and lime marmalade, peach jam and granary toast sprinkled with all spice. Warm fruit tea with golden syrup. red liquorice, aniseed balls and liqueur chocolates.
Palate
Orange liqueur, pear drops and grapefruit zest. Quite botanical like juniper and angelica. Soft vanilla and lots of sweet shop confectionery.
Finish
Toasted at full strength, smoothes out with water.
Comment
Curious – it was more like a liqueur than a whisky.

Nose
Strong rye aromas treat the nose with a whiff of pepper and toasted brown bread. Then it's into stewed pumpkin, tomato vines and a subtle note of modelling glue. A strange, but pleasing ensemble.
Palate
The spicy rye delivers liquorice on the palate, with cherry sherbet, aniseed balls and a burnt toast note. Bold and powerful.
Finish
Lingering liquorice and spice.
Comment
A very bold American whiskey indeed. I'm thinking Sazerac cocktail time right now but spare me the Cognac. This will do just fine on its own.
