- Clean. Dry. Perfumy. Apple skins.
- Palate
- Vanilla. Freshly cut oak. Forest floor. Pine. Resin. Menthol.
- Finish
- Smoky. Char.
- Comment
- Lean, limber and characteristically smoky. A clear sense of Hakushu malt without heavy wood influence.

80- Nose
- Peaty, heading towards the medicinal side of the spectrum. Some sweet fruit and a light menthol note, applewood fires.
- Palate
- Dry. The smoke hits at the deepest point of the palate but a real sweet fruity/lemony note softens things nicely. Fairly firm but has a good range of flavours.
- Finish
- Peppery.
- Comment
- More gentle than the rest of the range.
