Nose
Clean. Dry. Perfumy. Apple skins. Palate
Vanilla. Freshly cut oak. Forest floor. Pine. Resin. Menthol. Finish
Smoky. Char. Comment
Lean, limber and characteristically smoky. A clear sense of Hakushu malt without heavy wood influence.
Dave Broom
Nose
Peaty, heading towards the medicinal side of the spectrum. Some sweet fruit and a light menthol note, applewood fires. Palate
Dry. The smoke hits at the deepest point of the palate but a real sweet fruity/lemony note softens things nicely. Fairly firm but has a good range of flavours. Finish
Peppery. Comment
More gentle than the rest of the range.
