- Nose
- Very Spicy indeed. Violets. Almonds.
- Palate
- Creamy coffee. Espresso with a twist of lemon peel.
- Finish
- Twist of lemon peel. Woody but not musty. To me, that is a distinctive element of Strathisla. It reminds me of the taste of the wooden "spoon" provided with tubs of ice-cream.
- Comment
- Classic Strathisla, in good shape for it's age.

- Nose
- Dumb to start with. It needs time to build up hints of citrus, honey and then oak.
- Palate
- Soft and muscular but the wood starts drying things a bit too quickly for my liking.
- Finish
- Woody.
- Comment
- Ah well.
