- Nose
- Honey with a suggestion of chocolate, but also herbal notes.
- Palate
- Peppery and dry, but also creamy.
- Finish
- Orangey, zesty. Appetisingly spicy. Cilantro?
- Comment
- Very distinctive. Bring on the chicken mole.

- Nose
- Rich, wooded. Like a dunnage warehouse. Molasses, Christmas cake. European oak.
- Palate
- Charred timbers. The spirit has a fruity weight but the wood is in charge. Too dry and tannic.
- Finish
- Dry.
- Comment
- A shame as you don't find many wholly port pipe matured whiskies, but this has lain in the cask for too long.
