Nose
Sherry. Christmas cake. Some of the dried fruit has burned in the oven. Palate
Malty. Buttery. A slice of Wensleydale cheese. On top of the cake. Finish
Slightly woody bitterness. Late saltiness. Comment
Very satisfying flavours.
Dave Broom
Nose
Late autumn. Dry oak, firm and quite earthy with rooty/smouldering peat calf. Tweed. Has good depth and a slightly obscured sweetness. Seems old. Palate
A peaty start, then the smoke lifts and allows some honey and fudge in along with old dried peels. Becomes progressively oaky. Finish
A bit tannic. Comment
Seems like a very old whisky with strange exotic flavours.
