Shy and rather closed. Bread dough. A cardboard note. Then a diesel one, like entering a garage. Fruit (green grape) try to uncover it but it breaks through.
Palate
Crisp and dry. With a dusty feel, like sanding paper. A bit of cereals and
fruit. The tang of alcohol toned down by the sweet maltiness.
Finish
Dry, slightly peppery.
Comment
That whisky definitely needs water. But it lacks balance and charm. The alcohol is not mastered.
Takes its time to open, then there is a zip of fresh lemon zest and fruit puddings. Dark fruits, plums, blackberries, and a touch of warming bike tyre.
Palate
Quite fresh after the nose, sweet oak vanillas and ginger with the gentle hint of distance wood fires. Burnt heather sprigs.
Finish
Sweet, with spices.
Comment
Big and bold flavours that become more amplified with a touch of water.
