Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet

Nose
Intensely marine, briny, invigorating. Creosote, wet pebble. Dying bonfire by the shore.
Palate
The sweet maltiness followed by a phenolic dryness. Water brings out more sweetness and smoke. Garden mint.
Finish
Dry, quite lingering, slight bitterness. Chewed herbs coming back.
Comment
Definitely an Islander, tastes young. Could have more finesse.

Dave Broom

Nose
Fresh with light creamy notes, scented, crisp oak, bracken, cut grass. In time a dry smokiness.
Palate
A good match between this delicate, slightly floral quality, a crunchy palate and light smoke. Balanced and restrained.
Finish
Creamy.
Comment
Well put together, but not as smoky as I recall.
