Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet Nose Clean, rich, buttery, sweet. Butter and ground almond cakes. Hazelnut milk chocolate. Oak elegantly intertwines with rich cake aromas. Palate Sweet and spicy. Oak speaks up, covering fruit with spices. Nutmeg, ginger. Finish Dry, assertive. Dark chocolate. Bitter root. Toasted nuts. Comment The nose is more enticing than the palate. Water reduces the gap, bringing in a velvety texture.

Dave Broom Nose Full and fudge-like cut with green orange peel, herbs and marzipan. Well-balanced. Palate A fresh clean nutty start with notes of patisserie, powdered almond before a hint of incense/Turkish delight. Concentrated. Finish Spicy and dry. Comment Well made, but lacks the complexity and range of the best.
