- Nose
- Rounded and lightly agricultural: cowshed, damp green ferns, bourbon
biscuit, cereal and smoke.
- Palate
- A real crunchy, nutty sweetness. Big heat from the alcohol but relaxed and
confident showing good balance between mint, apple and maltiness,
burning heather and ripe orchard fruits. Becomes nuttier as it goes.
- Finish
- Long and nutty.
- Comment
- Balanced and quite rich. Worth a look.

- Nose
- Fragrant. Meaty. Smoked bacon. Wet dog. Hint of cold ashes. Thyme.
With water, fresh pears, barley sugar. More smoke.
- Palate
- Crisp. With a slight alcohol bite. Bitterness tones down the malty heart.
- Finish
- Dry, medium long.
- Comment
- The nose is full of smoke, the palate is very bitter. Lacks balance and
roundness.
