Nose
Oily. Hemp-like, very aromatic. Palate
Again, very oily. Minty. Moving to orange. Becomes very fruity and succulent. Expressive. Flavoursome. Finish
Sweet. Lingering. Teasing. Comment
I have always had a sneaking admiration for this whiskey, and have long wondered why it is not more widely available. It is as though the Jim Beam family quietly accommodates its crazy cousin.
Dave Broom
Nose
Light and perfumed though a little dusty with a whiff of acetone. White peppercorns, lemon myrtle, wood, pencil shavings. Palate
Soft and lemony to start with some perfumed honey. Decent hit of rye; the sourness balances nicely with the iced gem sweetness. Finish
Dry and spicy. Comment
A decent mid-weight introduction. Drink mixed.
