- Nose
- Rich and heavy. Dark plum/prune. Heathery smoke, more obvious with water, raisin and plum pudding. Some sweetness (fruit pastille?) as well as a maritime edge. Some chocolate hob nobs and Demerara sugar.
- Palate
- Soft start. Immediate hold of the palate. Silky and complex. Mulberry jam, chestnut honey, raisin and date. Full but with a green mossy lift on top.
- Finish
- Velvety and long.
- Comment
- The freshness of Red has been replaced by chewy mellow notes. Big
flavour. Exemplary blending.
- Nose
- Big and rich. Maple syrup with apple pie spices and a kick of mustard seed.
Salt encrusted caramel.
- Palate
- Big layers of drying smoke and spices. There is also some sweet malt loaf and creamy vanilla.
- Finish
- Rounded and mellow.
- Comment
- The classic blended Scotch.
