- Nose
- More wood oils and a general aroma reminiscent of a cooperage:sawdust, oil, grease, woodsmoke. Decent age on this. Cedar, incense with vestiges of smoke and herbs. Pagan
- Palate
- Smoke surrounded by acacia-like woodiness. Quite firm but enough rich sweetness to hold the wood in
balance. Layered black and semi dried fruits. Thick with an animalic edge to it. Better with water
- Finish
- Brazil nut
- Comment
- Unreconstructed macho whisky

- Nose
- Spirity, prickly. Wood speaks up then mingles with fruity notes. Sun warmed pine cones, touch of humus. Then
cooked prunes
- Palate
- Not as aggressive as the high strength would suggest.Easy flowing. Cooked fruit again then spices and a drier bitter note
- Finish
- Dry,dusty, spicy. Getting bitter but leaves a clean taste
- Comment
- Water does not help as it brings oak forward and enhances bitterness. Too stiff on the palate
