Dave Broom

Nose
Big,robust and complex. Seriously smoky,pipe tobacco,kiln,beach bonfire,smokehouse all allied to ripe fruitiness. Touch of creosote and Lapsang Souchong.
Palate
Lightly oily and defiantly smoky. The fruits some first as does the medicinal touch alongside a touch of bog myrtle while the smoke builds steadily towards the finish. Elegant.
Finish
Long and complex mix. Seaweed and smoke.
Comment
Superb balance and complexity.

Nose
Huge and layers. Plenty of smoke, smoked meats,tobacco leaf. Tarmac in the sun after it has rained. Gentle coal tar soap as well.
Palate
More smoke comes through with a gentle hospital note. A little sweetness but everything is wrapped in that big smoke blanket.
Finish
Huge with layers of seaside delights.

What you would expect from a great Lagavulin. Layers and balance.
