- Nose
- Intense. Prickly. Enormous. Highly medicinal. Hospital emergency service. Scents enveloped by a light veil of smoke. Oak is soaked in camphor. Fruit rise up later.
- Palate
- Assertive and pungent. Smoke lingers on tastebuds. Medicinal flavours in the front stage.
- Finish
- Dry, spicy, with a touch of earthy peat. Nutty as well.
- Comment
- The tough guy. Medicine man? Muscular, solidly built. Dominated by camphor.

- Nose
- Robust. Scented candles, cough medicine, hospitals, peat bog, kipper, always a cereal note.
- Palate
- Immediate peat and cereal mixing (with water) a light fruity note with a peatiness which clings to the palate. Still tarry and deep.
- Finish
- Light pepper, oatcake and, finally, lingering smoke.
- Comment
- Overall, the combination of peat smoke and overt cereal notes makes this a very dry whisky.
