80- Nose
- Fragrant, with just the tiniest hint of peat. Grassy. Lemon grass.
- Palate
- Honeydew melons.
- Finish
- Full. Firm. Juicy. Peachy maltiness.
- Comment
- Beautifully balanced with toasted dryness.
Jim Murray
75- Nose
- Slightly musty, coal-gassy, but with a sultana-currant bun, spotted dick suet doughiness.
- Palate
- Archetypal Cooley malt intensity which clings to the mouth with a firm, fruity oiliness. One dimensional but rather tasty.
- Finish
- Some oakiness begins to dry out the proceedings, leaving a vanilla-banana residue. Some caramel and demerara sugar adds a lingering sweetness.
- Comment
- Hmmm...Not quite up to what it was, but still a pretty interesting and enjoyable dram.
