Nose
Reedy, leafy. Smokiness disappointingly light. Hay. Palate
Oily, very vegetal, distinctly mustardy. Sweet-and-sour. Parsley. Finish
Quick, gritty, sandy. Comment
For a relatively young Bowmore, this seems somewhat tired.
Dave Broom
Nose
Dull and flat. Damp wood and some smoke. Palate
Some light smoke. Finish
Smoke. Comment
This is a whisky from a 'neutral' cask where there has been no interchange between wood and spirit, giving a neutral end result. A distillery owner would be able to blend this away, an independent bottler should have the guts not to bottle it.
