Martine Nouet
67- Nose
- Earthy. Wet leaves. Vanilla comes out with time. A hint of peat.
- Palate
- Very close to a pear spirit. Whereas wood is present on the nose, the palate stands on distillation ground. Pear and crushed fresh almond.
- Finish
- Short, melting into vanilla syrup.
- Comment
- Too young? Or a restricted vatting? Not very exciting.
Dave Broom
62- Nose
- Medium-bodied nose with some cakey/malty notes. There's caramel toffee/butterscotch and caramelised fruits. Some oakiness. Water seems to pull it apart slightly.
- Palate
- Drier than you'd expect from the creamy nose, a hint of prune, a little walnut and chocolate but it's all rather flat with the wood in charge.
- Finish
- Short.
- Comment
- Lacks energy.
