Nose
Earthy. Wet leaves. Vanilla comes out with time. A hint of peat. Palate
Very close to a pear spirit. Whereas wood is present on the nose, the palate stands on distillation ground. Pear and crushed fresh almond. Finish
Short, melting into vanilla syrup. Comment
Too young? Or a restricted vatting? Not very exciting.
Dave Broom
Nose
Medium-bodied nose with some cakey/malty notes. There’s caramel toffee/butterscotch and caramelised fruits. Some oakiness. Water seems to pull it apart slightly. Palate
Drier than you’d expect from the creamy nose, a hint of prune, a little walnut and chocolate but it’s all rather flat with the wood in charge. Finish
Short. Comment
Lacks energy.
