- Nose
- Apples, lemon, and a light yeastiness. Newly sawn wood. Meadow flowers and garden mint.
- Palate
- Fresh and young, with a baked apple flavour.
- Finish
- Floral, citric and a touch of toffee.
- Comment
- Lowland-like, extremely pretty and characterful. Good by any standard, excellent given its youth. Welcome to the gang Mackmyra!

- Nose
- Traces of vanilla and fudge, but largely dominated by the acetic dryness of new spirit. Menthol or Eucalyptus.
- Palate
- Flat, dusty, chalky. Big alcohol burn, even with water. Big, but unsophisticated, vanilla notes.
- Finish
- Definite peppermint/menthol character. With water, more toffee develops.
- Comment
- As a cask sample of a maturing whisky, I'd say it had definite potential, but otherwise, it's jailbait.
