- Nose
- Malty, heathery, oaky.
- Palate
- Malty. Brown sugar. Ginger. Oak. Body is smooth and creamy.
- Finish
- Crisp treacle toffee.
- Comment
- More robust and less sophisticated than the distillery bottlings.
80
- Nose
- "Sherried" notes: date, dried fruits, walnut/chestnut, heading to rancio. There's a rich, generous spirit as well: burnt orange, rooty, honey.
- Palate
- Smoke under the rounded nutty dried figgy notes. Honey and soft malt.
- Finish
- Slightly tannic.
- Comment
- An old bugger, but the character still shines through the sherry.
