Nose
Malt and grain, boiled sweets. A less aromatic and interesting bouquet than Cooley's Tyrconnell. Palate
Lime and biscuits washed down with cream soda. Finish
Spicy and strangely dry. Comment
Although it says 'pure pot still' on the label, this is a single malt, there's no unmalted barley here. At 5 or so years old this malt is still a bit green.
Dave Broom
Nose
Light, nutty edge, moving into dried peach, mixed herbs, turf and wood shavings. Seems young with an aroma akin to wet pavements after the rain. Palate
Buttery and tongue-coating. Sweet: a juicy centre then a crisp maltiness. Like eating Smarties. Finish
Peppery and spicy. Comment
Developing some weight. An older example will be interesting.
