Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Slightly smoky. Toasty. Maple syrup.
Palate
Creamy. Nutty. flapjack. Dryish. Clean. Smooth.
Finish
Slightly fruity, winey (Muscat). Some acidity.
Comment
This famously smooth whisky seems slightly less sweet than I remember, especially in the nose and finish . Better balanced, but perhaps fractionally less distinctive.

Dave Broom

Nose
Elegant, harmonious and soft. Runny honey, cherry, peach/apricot, butter icing/cream and fresh wild herbs.
Palate
Ripe, soft, creamy and fruit-filled: cherries and peaches in honey syrup with dusting of nutmeg and cinnamon.
Finish
Soft then crisps up.
Comment
Chewy and mellow. Great balance and elegance. Still a classic.
