- Acetone and other estery notes. Opens well if quietly, whispering (© MN) about macaroons, milk chocolate, sweet oak and pear.
- Palate
- Lightly fruity. Pure and controlled. Expands well. Fresh and slightly floral.
- Finish
- Light oak.
- Comment
- It might lack the layering you want from a 20 year old but its vibrancy is to be praised.

- Intense, a bit sharp. Fruity. Apples stewed in a vanilla syrup. Touch of lemon balm. Vanilla biscuits.
- Palate
- Sweet then getting fizzy and tickling on the tongue. Pineapple drop. Rumlike flavours. Ripe banana.
- Finish
- Quickly fading. Slightly dusty.
- Comment
- This whisky is so close to a Trinidad rum. So surprising. You wonder whether this grain whisky has matured in a rum cask
