Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Peat. Grass. Fruit. Musty.
Palate
Syrupy but firm. Medium-bodied. Robust. Peaty.
Finish
Mustardy, scenty, dry.
Comment
In a young whisky, I would have expected more freshness of flavour, but the elements are there, and the product shows promise.

Dave Broom

Nose
Smoky, dry, heathery (and leathery). There's a grappa-like earthiness, barbecue smoke then, as it opens, an overpowering rubbery/feinty note.
Palate
Pretty sweet with some soft fruit and that heathery smoke on the sides of the tongue.
Finish
Clean. Short.
Comment
Young, maybe time in wood will mellow the rubbery nose.
