Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Clean, fresh, dessert apple skin. Honeycomb toffee
Palate
Soft, smooth, caressing. Very lightly fruity. Zabaglione. White peaches. Amaretto macaroons.
Finish
Toasty. Winey. Malaga?
Comment
In general, Midelton is a bit too elegant for me, but this is a lovely vintage. The Yquem of whiskies?

Dave Broom

Nose
Quite lean, aromatic and complex: sandalwood, polished furniture, nutmeg and spice. Oak tones alongside crème caramel, oil, tobacco.
Palate
Rounded with treacle toffee and a mix of dried spice, oak and a rich, oily texture with a crunchy centre.
Finish
Long.
Comment
Not one, but two world-class whiskeys. All hail the two Barrys!
