- Nose
- Appetising citrus (tangerine?).
- Palate
- Malty, textured. Crunchie bars. Cinder toffee. Softening to marshmallow. Cream. Strawberries.
- Finish
- A sprinkling of lemon juice.
- Comment
- The orangey colour suggests some sherry. Nikka's Sendai distillery has in this instance produced a nuttier, maltier style of whisky than Yoichi.
- Nose
- Intense, aromatic, rich yet dry: resin, oil, dried fruit, plum pudding, coffee. In time, mushroom, damp earth.
- Palate
- Sherried/walnut flavours, resinous. Chocolate. The wood hits half way through but there's just enough sweet weight to carry.
- Finish
- Rich.
- Comment
- An intriguing mix of sweet wood, crisp malt and toasted nuttiness.
