Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Appetising citrus (tangerine?). Palate Malty, textured. Crunchie bars. Cinder toffee. Softening to marshmallow. Cream. Strawberries. Finish A sprinkling of lemon juice. Comment The orangey colour suggests some sherry. Nikka’s Sendai distillery has in this instance produced a nuttier, maltier style of whisky than Yoichi.

Dave Broom Nose Intense, aromatic, rich yet dry: resin, oil, dried fruit, plum pudding, coffee. In time, mushroom, damp earth. Palate Sherried/walnut flavours, resinous. Chocolate. The wood hits half way through but there’s just enough sweet weight to carry. Finish Rich. Comment An intriguing mix of sweet wood, crisp malt and toasted nuttiness.
