- Flowery. A suggestion of peppermint. Black chocolate? Mint crisp?
- Palate
- Memorable for its challenging complexity and subtlety. Flavours beautifully combined. A touch of sherry. Dances on the tongue.
- Finish
- Smooth, dry smokiness. Very long.
- Comment
- A great malt that is enigmatic and sometimes seems reclusive.

- Huge, meaty (Bovril, roasting tin, oxtail soup) treacle, singed, hint of smoke. Massive concentration.
- Palate
- Robust and powerful with an almost earthy power. A massive grumbly malt which might not have the complexity of others in its weight division but which delivers a mighty punch.

- Long.
- Comment
- Tell me this and Knockando share similar characteristics. A single Speyside style? I think not.
