Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Flowery. A suggestion of peppermint. Black chocolate? Mint crisp? Palate Memorable for its challenging complexity and subtlety. Flavours beautifully combined. A touch of sherry. Dances on the tounge. Finish Smooth, dry smokiness. Very long. Comment A great malt that is enigmatic and sometimes seems reclusive.

Dave Broom Nose Huge, meaty (Bovril, roasting tin, oxtail soup) treacle, singed, hint of smoke. Massive concentration. Palate Robust and powerful with an almost earthy power. A massive grumbly malt which might not have the complexity of others in its weight division but which delivers a mighty punch. Finish Long. Comment Tell me this and Knockando share similar characteristics. A single Speyside style? I think not.
