60
- Nose
- Lightly malty. Fudgy.
- Palate
- Light butter and toffee.
- Finish
- Crisp. Peanut brittle.
- Comment
- Pleasant but a little one-dimensional.
70
- Nose
- Delicate and immediately malty. A sound, slightly toffee grain presence. Not as smoky as a few years back, but salty for an Irish.
- Palate
- A complex maltiness – both grassy and intensely barley-rich – dominates. The oak is quite drying, though a hint of wild fruit offers some extra compexity.
- Finish
- Lightly spiced, malty with some vanilla from the grain.
- Comment
- Lacks depth: a simple but pleasant blend.
