Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Lightly fragrant, with grass, camomile and mint. Palate Light, flowery and dry. Camomile and spearmint. Very distinctive, but slightly spirity. Finish Potpourri, flowery, slightly sharp. Comment Rosebank is a delicate whisky, but just a touch more wood-extract would hold together its flavours.

Jim Murray Nose Horribly unbalanced mixture of new make and sappy oak. The malt is merely incidental. Palate Sweet, malty and, er, that’s it . Finish Almost sickly sweet. The oak remains off-key. Comment The label quotes my devotion to Rosebank at 8 years. I’m not devoted to it in this form. The cask this malt was filled into must have been exhausted as the whisky is closer to a 2 Years Old in character. The only good point is that there are no off notes.
