Nose
A hint of peat, and a robust suggestion of fresh oak. Palate
Textured. Chewy blend of marzipan, jam and icing sugar. Like drinking a Bakewell tart. Finish
Almondy dryness. Satisfying. Comment
A good example of this distinctive and under-rated malt.
Dave Broom
Nose
Intense, high-toned and tight. Floral with honeysuckle, vanilla, wood. Palate
Complex mix of malt, ginger and nut. Fairly grippy though it broadens in middle. Finish
Toasty, short. Comment
Strathisla is always charming but can be a touch frosty. This is one of those.
