Nose
Smoky and quite dry with a hint of rubber suggesting youth. Underneath this is a subtle perfume: moist banana, cumin powder. Palate
Oak and smoke but there’s dried peel, crème brûlée, orange peel and tropical fruit in the centre. Youth showing still. Finish
Light smoke. Comment
Not Yoichi at its most full-blooded and a little gawky but worth a look.
Martine Nouet
Nose
Intense. Intricate bouquet of wood notes. Sandalwood, floor polish. Antique shop. Elegantly combined with floral aromas (rosehip, freesia). Sweeter notes break through. Toffee. Liquorice. Palate
Smooth, round and delicate. Perfect balance between wood, fruit and spices. Finish
Soothing on dried fruit and nuts. Comment
A superb combination of fruit and oak, so well integrated.
