Dave Broom
- Nose
- Weightier. Creme brulee and a little butterscotch and just a hint of ripening red fruit and basil. In time,custard and an oily thickness. Fleshy, but there's also an underlying mustiness.
- Palate
- The thickest and most chewy on show. Buttered popcorn and white chocolate. Sweet again with some peaches in syrup and crisp oak.
- Finish
- Tingling and spiced.
- Comment
- Medium to full-bodied, but that slight mustiness diminishes its undoubted voluptuous charms.
Rob Allanson
- Nose
- A bold nose packed with caramel, vanilla cream and melted brown sugar. There is something savoury here too, roasted tomato, aged balsamic vinegar.
- Palate
- The boldness translates to the palate. barbecued sweetcorn and melted butter. Some soft fruit and then a fizzy sweetness.
- Finish
- Grippy and warming.
- Comment
- A big multilayered whisky. Definitely to try as a Manhattan.
