- Nose
- Fresh fruit and some mild acetone notes. Bright and inviting, more scented when reduced.
- Palate
- Rich, mouth-coating, plums and thick-cut marmalade, with a whiff of smoke.
- Finish
- Becoming astringent as the old oak comes to the fore.
- Comment
- This is a very decent example of an independent bottling.

- Nose
- Light and nutty/malty. Crisp red apple, hints of spice and orange zest. Polished oak, burnt grass, waxed jacket. Seems youthful.
- Palate
- Light. Soft texture, good balance. Some floral notes. No great concentration. Sulphur.
- Finish
- Very long with attractive crunchy malt.
- Comment
- Good balance, but not the weight or maturity you want from such an old malt.
