Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Nose
Creamy and rounded if quite simple nose. Water brings out elderflower sweetness, but also a note akin to balloons.
Palate
Sweeter than the nose with cereal, oak, rubber and a confected sweetness. Thin and quite hot. Not quite knitted together.
Finish
Short, syrup, crisp oak.
Comment
The sweetness fails to mask a whisky that hasn’t matured. All rather flat and plain.

Arthur Motley

Nose
Bran, cereal husk, pear drops and daffodils. Freeze-dried raspberries and peach slices.
Palate
Oily texture which dries out and becomes astringent. Baked pears then dried flowers.
Finish
Dry and biscuity.
Comment
OK, but given that there are so many wonderful whiskies around, this gets lost.
