85- Nose
- Seaweedy. Vegetal. Only slightly medicinal. Musty. Woody.
- Palate
- Sweet. Spun sugar. Marshmallowish maltiness. Edible seaweed.
- Finish
- Musky, leafy. At first, seems a little dried-out and tired, then a leafy and peppery late rally.
- Comment
- This seems far less lively and rounded than the 1987 whisky bottled in 1992.

77- Nose
- Intense with a clean sharp character. Tarry notes, engine oil, dried seaweed and a weird cabbagey note. Peat/smoked tea.
- Palate
- Surprisingly soft given the nose nutty with great crisp maltiness. Smoke.
- Finish
- Long and smoky.
- Comment
- A good example that harks back to the cask strength 10 Years Old but with extra weight (and tarry smoke!).
