- Nose
- Peaty. A mix of creosote and sulphur. The malty character struggles to shine through behind that wall. A touch of vanilla.
- Palate
- Smooth, thick almost syrupy. Very sweet. Far less phenolic than on the nose. Smoked chicken, star anis.
- Finish
- Dry,slightly sour.White pepper.
- Comment
- A phenolic fellow. Tough on the nose, sweet on the palate. But the aromatic profile is not exciting.

- Nose
- Empty fish boxes, musty boat sheds after a wet winter
- Palate
- Messy battle between oak, peat,a strange off note and oily fish. No obvious winner.
- Finish
- Long and peaty,distinctly Islay
- Comment
- Does little to enhance the distillery's reputation.
