- Nose
- It's another pale and interesting peaty one! Bog myrtle, marram grass and cod liver oil.Very similar to No4. Cooking oysters and bacon, wet bamboo and salty with a slight elastoplast quality.
- Palate
- Soft and subtle with the peat in good balance. Intense fresh and distinctly salt-tinged.
- Finish
- Hot and lightly grassy.
- Comment
- Another lovely Caol Ila that just lacks a little weight.

- Nose
- Woollens after a woodfire,a little grapey and just a suggestion of grass lands. Has tones of a first aid kit.
- Palate
- The peat rolls into a salty edge. But seems a little thin, does not live up to the nose.
- Finish
- Short and engaging.
- Comment
- Offers something different to the distillery bottling that is well worth investigating.
