Martine Nouet
Nose
Medicinal, peaty. Camphor. Seaweed drying in the sun. Absolutely marine. Exotic touch of pineapple.
Palate
Oily. Sweet. Well-balanced. Sea salt. Barley.
Finish
Neither pronounced nor lingering.
Comment
There’s more in the nose than in the finish. A really characterful malt. Interesting. This is one of the more medicinal expressions of Clynelish I have come across.

Nose
Some fragrance with melon/orange. With water it smells like a lumber yard.
Palate
Thick and sweet with good concentration, a little smoke, waxiness. The wood starts to tighten becoming increasingly aggressive and tannic.
Finish
Very long and perfumed as if the whisky has finally escaped the oaky grip.
Comment
It’s just too old and struggles to fight its way out of the wood.
