- Nose
- Medicinal, peaty. Camphor. Seaweed drying in the sun. Absolutely marine. Exotic touch of pineapple.
- Palate
- Oily. Sweet. Well-balanced. Sea salt. Barley.
- Finish
- Neither pronounced nor lingering.
- Comment
- There's more in the nose than in the finish. A really characterful malt. Interesting. This is one of the more medicinal expressions of Clynelish I have come across.

- Nose
- Some fragrance with melon/orange. With water it smells like a lumber yard.
- Palate
- Thick and sweet with good concentration, a little smoke, waxiness. The wood starts to tighten becoming increasingly aggressive and tannic.
- Finish
- Very long and perfumed as if the whisky has finally escaped the oaky grip.
- Comment
- It's just too old and struggles to fight its way out of the wood.
