- Nose
- Peach cobbler. Raisins.
- Palate
- Sherry-soaked sponge. Fudge. Cookies. Sweet at first and then dry. Chocolate digestive?
- Finish
- Suddenly the salt is back.
- Comment
- If you like whisky on your therapeutic porridge (and who doesn't?) this is the salty one.

- Nose
- Tainted mildly by sulphur. Fruitcake rich, nonetheless, and pretty sweet despite the drier oaky tones.
- Palate
- Big, irrespective of the strength. Quite peppery, smoky and enticingly sweet with hickory? A gently salty edge with subtle build up of malty complexity.
- Finish
- Lingering peat. Vanilla oak guarantees a soft finale than might be expected.
- Comment
- A genuinely delightful malt that shows great charisma beyond the so-so nose.
