- Nose
- Sherryish, perfumy, pear-skins.
- Palate
- Very sherryish; assertive. Some malty chewiness. Vanilla. Soft, sweet, pear-like fruitiness, moving to a spicy dryness.
- Finish
- Spicy, perfumy, intensely dry.
- Comment
- Pittyvaich has always seemed a bit spirity to me, like a Scottish grappa. This version is softened slightly by the sherry.

- Nose
- Caramel, pulped fruit and oak. Not unpleasant, but curiously artificial. Almost brandy-like.
- Palate
- Fat and fruity, some sweet malt.
- Finish
- Coffee-biscuit sweetness and mealiness; not bad, but doesn't seem to hang right.
- Comment
- A weird whisky all round. Pleasing character, but just doesn't feel right.
