Tasting Notes

Gavin Smith Nose Sea salt, floor polish, mild antiseptic, and subtle oak. Palate Waxy, full, with pepper and light smoke. Finish Long and dry, sea-spray. Comment Very well balanced, this expression has enjoyed a great relationship with its cask.

Dave Broom Nose Pungent. Acetone, linseed oil/putty, olive oil, canvas, squid ink even apple. Briny (scallop shell, fishmonger) Quite oaky. Palate Mouth-coating and smooth. Beeswax, lanolin, pepper, dry smoke. Needs time. Finish Rich and tight. Comment Has all of Port Ellen's great length, oiliness (and reserve).
