- Nose
- Peaty and spicy. Curry. Quite zesty. Créosote.
- Palate
- Smooth at first, gently flowing down. Gets spicier but keeps a delicate malty sweetness. Smokier than on the nose. Hint of thyme. Spices keep the word.
- Finish
- Dry, smoky. Liquorice root.
- Comment
- A very good balance between nose and palate. An island character with a pleasant earthy background.

- Nose
- Calm and understated. Faint phenols hover over modestly smoky, grainy base notes.
- Palate
- Exquisite fruity malt character. Clootie dumpling? Becomes sharper with water.
- Finish
- More indulgent than the nose would suggest, and only slightly smoky.
- Comment
- Beautifully composed. Focused. Elegant, mature structure belies the inherent strength of this malt.
