- Nose
- Bold and rich with masses of oily leather, sandalwood, spices frying in
melted butter, plump black fruits - black cherry and tayberry. Complex.
- Palate
- That ebullient fruitiness continues, this time opening into apricot, cling peaches (and custard) and a topical edge of passion fruit. The sweetness becomes more savoury in the centre as the oiliness picks up.
- Finish
- Long and spicy.
- Comment
- This is astoundingly complex for a 12yo. An instant classic.

- Nose
- Delicate, nutty. Fresh hazelnuts. Honey. Nougat. Quite restrained. In time, some toffee comes through.
- Palate
- Velvety. Sweet. Some pastry-notes. Praline, almond cake. The palate, like the nose, keeps shy. More fruit at midpalate. Pears and apples. Then a more assertive spicy flavour wakes the tastebuds up. Black pepper.
- Finish
- Warm, dry and spicy.
- Comment
- Well balanced and well structured.
