Michael Jackson
Nose
Fresh apple aroma. Grass. Touch of peat.
Palate
Firm. Fresh, fruity, apple, combining well with the vanilla, cereal character of the whisky.
Finish
Fruity. Dry. Lively, Some length.
Comment
As with the Caol Ila wood finishes reviewed in the last issue, the calvados is a powerful influence but the whisky does fight back-makes for an interesting combination.

Nose
Thin, tinny, cabbage water: awfully off-beam and unattractive.
Palate
Sweet and shapeless, quite sugary.
Finish
Bitter and unwieldy.
Comment
Remind me never to put Imperial into a calvados cask.
