Nose
Immediate rum aromas. The ones of a “grand arôme” rum. Slightly medicinal, hint of camphor. Lot of cloves. Touch of mango. Palate
Sweet at start then very spicy. Cane syrup infused with spices. Touch of eucalyptus. Finish
Rummy, rummy, rummy. Comment
Hang on! Is that a single malt with a rum finish or a good rum matured in a bourbon cask? An exemplary phagocytosis or a magical trick. But we wanted whisky!
Dave Broom
Nose
Very plain and very rum-like. Good pungent Jamaican high ester lift, wet cane, pineapple. Lightly oily phenols. Lots of acetone. Palate
This is all rum and a pretty decent rum at that. Water shows light smoke but it is all to do with wet cane, molasses and punchiness. Finish
Finally some smoke. Slightly medicinal. Comment
This is a great drink but seems more like a whisky finished rum than the other way around, so have marked it accordingly.
