- Nose
- Immediate rum aromas. The ones of a “grand arôme” rum. Slightly medicinal, hint of camphor. Lot of cloves. Touch of mango.
- Palate
- Sweet at start then very spicy. Cane syrup infused with spices. Touch of eucalyptus.
- Finish
- Rummy, rummy, rummy.
- Comment
- Hang on! Is that a single malt with a rum finish or a good rum matured in a bourbon cask? An exemplary phagocytosis or a magical trick. But we wanted whisky!

- Nose
- Very plain and very rum-like. Good pungent Jamaican high ester lift, wet cane, pineapple. Lightly oily phenols. Lots of acetone.
- Palate
- This is all rum and a pretty decent rum at that. Water shows light smoke but it is all to do with wet cane, molasses and punchiness.
- Finish
- Finally some smoke. Slightly medicinal.
- Comment
- This is a great drink but seems more like a whisky finished rum than the other way around, so have marked it accordingly.
