Nose
Rich and mysterious and evidently of considerable age. Dried mint, dark chocolate with rich fondant sweetness, but also fig and Assam tea.
Palate
Its age anchors it firmly on the tongue. The Seville orange re-emerges alongside eucalptus and coal smoke.
Finish
Rich, crepuscular.
Comment
Amazingly lively for such an age, and that coal smoke is a signature of distillery character still hanging on in there.

Nose
Slightly cheesy and butyric. Sour fruit. The first butyric note gets covered by nicer aromas. Cider apple.
Palate
Crisp, dry. The sour note is there, integrated into dry oak. Dried kumquat peel.
Finish
Dry with medjoul dates.
Comment
The unpleasant note at first nose goes away. A rich and deep matured whisky which brings out memories of invigorating walks in the woods on a cold frosty morning.
