- Nose
- Rich and mysterious and evidently of considerable age. Dried mint, dark
chocolate with rich fondant sweetness, but also fig and Assam tea.
- Palate
- Its age anchors it firmly on the tongue. The Seville orange re-emerges
alongside eucalptus and coal smoke.
- Finish
- Rich, crepuscular.
- Comment
- Amazingly lively for such an age, and that coal smoke is a signature of
distillery character still hanging on in there.

- Nose
- Slightly cheesy and butyric. Sour fruit. The first butyric note gets covered by
nicer aromas. Cider apple.
- Palate
- Crisp, dry. The sour note is there, integrated into dry oak. Dried
kumquat peel.
- Finish
- Dry with medjoul dates.
- Comment
- The unpleasant note at first nose goes away. A rich and deep matured whisky which brings out memories of invigorating walks in the woods on a
cold frosty morning.
