- Nose
- Peat, juniper. Fruit skin, or am I being suggestible?
- Palate
- Very peaty. Some creamy, sweeter, nutty fruitiness coming along behind. Iron.
- Finish
- Saltiness reasserts the coastal identity.
- Comment
- The least characterful of the three Caol Ila wood finishes.

- Nose
- Ripe fruit covers the peat but leaves the vanilla unscathed.
- Palate
- Unbelievably soft, with a hint of cherry.
- Finish
- No more than an echo of smoke and spice.
- Comment
- There are times when whiskies can be just a little too gentle....and this is one.
